BetaSoft is looking for a responsible and safety-focused Heavy Truck Driver to support transport and logistics operations. The successful candidate will operate heavy goods vehicles, complete assigned deliveries, inspect the vehicle, secure cargo and comply with road safety, driving-time and transport regulations. Depending on the role, routes may include local, national or international transport.
Your Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Complete deliveries and collections according to the assigned schedule.
- Perform daily vehicle safety and condition checks.
- Ensure cargo is loaded, secured and transported correctly.
- Complete transport documents and required records accurately.
- Comply with road safety, tachograph and applicable driving/rest-time regulations.
- Report mechanical problems, incidents, delays or safety concerns.
- Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, customers and logistics teams.
Vereisten
Relevant Experience:
0+ years — Must-have, provided the candidate holds the legally required licence and professional qualification. Entry-level candidates may be considered where training and insurance requirements allow.
Sector Experience:
0+ years — Must-have. Experience in road freight, logistics, distribution or international transport is an advantage.
Must-Have Skills:
- Valid licence required for the applicable heavy vehicle category.
- Valid professional driver qualification required by the country of employment.
- Safe vehicle operation.
- Understanding of road safety and transport regulations.
- Ability to complete transport documentation.
- Basic vehicle inspection knowledge.
Must-Have Soft Skills:
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Responsibility and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently.
- Calm decision-making under changing road conditions.
Must-Have Language Skills:
- Basic working proficiency in English or the local operational language, sufficient to understand instructions and safety requirements.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- International or long-haul driving experience.
- Experience with refrigerated, container, curtain-side or other specialist trailers.
- Digital tachograph experience.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Forklift or loading/unloading experience where legally applicable.
Nice-to-Have Soft Skills:
- Customer service mindset.
- Adaptability to changing routes and schedules.
- Good time management.
Nice-to-Have Language Skills:
- French.
- Dutch.
- German.
