To manage such a large organization, we have of course rolled out an outstanding finance department over the years and more concretely in the structure of an RSSC. The heart of finance is located at DSV Road Holding NV, located in Puurs, from where we are in daily direct contact with our MDs and colleagues across Europe West.

The mission of a “Financial Controlling Specialist” for the “RSSC in Europe West” is to analyze both the gains against the losses and the balance sheet, as well as reporting for the various entities within your responsibility. The Controller should support Management with clear and objective comments on various day-to-day business matters and, in addition, provide both Management and Operations (MDs of the various entities) with guidance and monitoring with regard to business performance. The Controller will closely monitor any risks that could arise from outstanding items in the balance sheet and will ensure that Management is alerted to any adverse risk. In short, you are a very important link within DSV. If desired, you will first start in Belgium (Puurs), where you will learn more about DSV and our way of working and, depending on your growth path, you can grow within 1 or 2 years to another European country within RSSC and then return to BE or be sent again to another location. Apart from that, there are also opportunities for profiles who want a long career within BE. Of course, these profiles will also occasionally go on a business trip, but not to the extent that this interferes with the desired work-life balance.

In our RSSC structure, you are responsible for the following tasks:

• Analyze financial results and discuss with regional management;
• Optimize processes related to work in progress and gross profit;
• Serve as a point of contact for the Group for assigned entities;
• Develop initiatives to improve profitability;
• Ensure an up-to-date SAP structure and forecasts;
• Draft budgets using SAP BPC tools;
• Proactively monitor the balance sheet to mitigate risks;
• Represent RSSC at local management meetings;
• Ensure compliance with financial processes and support audits;
• Support overhead cost control and perform ad-hoc tasks.
