3. JobFunders.com Platform and App

3.1 Creating an Account

When you register as a user, you may do so either directly using your email address or through your LinkedIn, Google, or Facebook account. If you choose to register through one of these profiles, you acknowledge that certain data will be exchanged between JobFunders and the respective service provider. Further details are provided during the registration process.

If you register directly, we collect your name, contact details, and any other information required to complete your registration on JobFunders.com or within the JobFunders app.

The type of data collected may vary depending on whether you register as a Company User or a Candidate:

Company User: only your contact details are processed.
Candidate: both your contact and identification details are processed, as well as any additional information you voluntarily add to your profile, such as your CV, references, or motivation.

The processing of this data is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and JobFunders concerning the use of our platform or app. If you do not wish to provide this data, you cannot use the JobFunders.com platform or app, as this processing is essential to enable your access.

3.2 Use of JobFunders.com

When using JobFunders.com (or the app), we also collect the following data:

Your communication with us (e.g., for support purposes) and data related to your logins.
For Candidates: which job postings you view, apply to, or mark as favourites.

We process this personal data for the following purposes:

To continuously improve our services and develop new functionalities. This processing is based on our legitimate interest, namely to better tailor our services to users’ needs.
To maintain security and integrity of JobFunders.com and its users. This processing is based on our legitimate interest, specifically to ensure a secure platform for all participants.
To monitor usage of JobFunders.com and detect any misuse of the Terms of Use. This processing is consistent with the proper performance of the contract between you and JobFunders.

3.3 Coins and Competitions

If you earn Coins or are eligible for related prizes through JobFunders.com, we process your contact and address details, as well as data concerning the allocation, ownership, and use of Coins.

4. Sharing of Personal Data

Your personal data are processed exclusively for the purposes described above.

If you register via your LinkedIn, Google, or Facebook profile, certain information will be shared with the respective provider.

In addition, your data may be shared with other users of our services, such as potential employers or clients, when you apply for or express interest in a specific opportunity. Any data exchange between users within JobFunders.com or the app always occurs through the settings or actions you have selected.

JobFunders may also engage third-party service providers for the purposes described above, including for software integration (e.g., IT vendors) and hosting (e.g., cloud providers, data centres).

Your personal data will never be transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.

Furthermore, your data will not be transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Should this ever change, we will ensure that adequate safeguards and additional measures are in place as required by data protection legislation.

JobFunders implements all reasonable technical and organisational measures to ensure the protection of your personal data against misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. Access to your data is granted only on a need-to-know basis.

These measures are continuously updated to reflect the current state of technology. However, the security of your data is a best-effort obligation, not an absolute guarantee.

We aim to respond to any request within one month. In exceptional cases, this may be extended to three months, in which case we will inform you within the first month.

Right of Access and Rectification

7. Data Retention

JobFunders retains personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which they were collected or as required by law. The specific retention periods are as follows:

Account data: up to 10 years after the last activity on the platform.
Candidate data: up to 10 years after the last activity or until the user requests deletion.
Communication data: 10 years after resolution of the communication.

When data are no longer required, they are deleted or anonymised. Users may request deletion of their data at any time, unless legal obligations require longer retention.
